You've heard the GOSPEL (Good News) of Jesus Christ. You understand WHO Jesus is and what He did for you on the cross and now you are ready to trust Him and Him alone as your Forgiver of sin and Savior from Hell... So, NOW WHAT?
Read the following verses and comments very carefully.
No one is born naturally into God’s family. In fact, becoming part of God’s family begins with understanding that spiritually we are far from God. Time and time again we have chosen our own desires and followed our own course, rather than following God. This is called “sin” and it is what separates us from a holy God.
“As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." (Romans 3:10-12 - NIV)
Once we understand we have a serious spiritual problem and we genuinely desire a new life in right relationship with God, then we are ready to accept the ONE true solution that God offers.
“God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son {Jesus}. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12 -NIV)
Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 - NIV)
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 - NIV)
Beginning a spiritual relationship with God happens through a heart of repentance and faith in the Good News that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin and believing that His resurrection proves the price has been paid in full.
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - NASB)
“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation…” (2 Corinthians 7:10a - NKJV)
God’s gift of forgiveness isn’t something you can earn. You have to accept it through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
“For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith - this is not of yourselves, it is a gift from God - not by works, so that no one can boast.“ (Ephesians 2:8-9 - NIV)
When you accept God’s free gift of forgiveness and invite Jesus Christ to be the Leader of your life, God will not only give you eternal life after you die, but He will also give you new Spiritual life now! He gives you His Spirit, who lives inside you and begins to transform you into a new person. God adopts you as his very own child...making you a part of His spiritual family forever!
This is a Simple prayer of faith and repentance that you can pray...
“Dear God, I believe you love me and made me for your purposes. Please forgive me for all the wrong things I’ve said, thought and done. Thank you for sending Jesus to pay for my sins when He died on the cross. I believe Jesus raised from the dead. I trust Jesus as my Forgiver and I want Him to be the Leader of my life. Please transform my life and help me live completely for YOU! Amen.”
(These words themselves don’t save a person - these words reflect agenuine heart of faith and repentance.)
